about the pink huddle

The Pink Huddle was founded by FCA Area Director Mitchell Williams and his wife, Sheila, in cooperation with Grace Temple Church. Our mission is to mentor, encourage and support female student athletes of our area schools in South Mississippi. Our hope is to provide spiritual and fraternal support to the young leaders annually.

We are committed to building character, to teaching young women that doing right will take them farther than doing well, and instilling the knowledge that better young women make better teams.

the chance of a lifetime

According to the National Federation of State High School Associations, just one girl in 27 participated in sports in 1972. 40 years later, nearly 3 million girls played high school sports. It's an increase of nearly 88 percent. But with growth, comes the increased use of drugs, alcohol and increased peer pressure to "fit in". Obesity, teen pregnancy and depression have become more abundant on our area campuses.

The Pink Huddle is founded upon the principle that it is not what happens to a person that determines his or her success:
it is what happens inside a person that determines his or her success and destiny.
